What is the Pacific Northwest Trail?
I can see why you might have to ask... as only about 20 people hike it annually. The PNT is a little walk in the woods (some 1,200 miles, in fact), from Mid-Montana to the Pacific Coast. This is GRIZZLY territory, folks! It includes the Rocky Mountains, Selkirk Mountains, Pasayten Wilderness (my personal favorite), North Cascades, Olympic Mountains, and Wilderness Coast. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it correctly. I'll be hiking up, over, down and back up these mountain ranges rather than strolling along the crest as with some of those other famous long distance trails.
